CÂMP - Lucian Cioată
Tehnica acuarelei a fost pentru prea mult timp dedicată valorificării transparenţelor şi punerii în pagină a evanescenţelor. Delicateţea prima în raport cu vigoarea. Propun un nou tip de demers, în care acuarela dobândeşte anvergură şi dramatism. El pretinde un format, dar şi un atac diferit al suportului. Culoarea se prelinge pe acesta, creând tuşe (pete) de culoare, care amintesc de macchiaiuoli italieni. Sistemul coloristic al lui Itten este recunoscut, dar, în acelaşi timp, subminat, prin punerea culorilor într-o relaţie de conflict, şi nu într-una de simplă armonie. Scopul este o confruntare dramatică între suprafeţele colorate. Textura este potenţată prin integrarea coloizilor în substanţa picturală, realizând raporturi dinamice între transparenţă şi densitate. Hazardul curgerii substanţei picturale este o componentă esenţială a demersului pictural. Înclinarea variabilă a suportului face ca scurgerile materiei picturale să se opună gravitaţiei, fără să propună planarea, ci deplasarea care naşte uimirea.
VIBRAȚII - Maria Cioată
Formele volumetrice transced orizontul de așteptare, în relație cu materialul. Soluțiile plastice sunt sugerate fie de proprietățile fizico-chimice ale materiei, fie de cele cu valoare așa – zis estetică, precum textura, structura, consistența, toate subliniate printr-un desen spațial. Lumina are un rol definitoriu, fiind „invitată” să se integreze în compoziție. Spațiul este expandat, printr-o țesătură de lumini și umbre care sugerează că, dincolo de ceea ce ni se arată, există și o lume nevăzută. Formele capătă greutate sau, dimpotrivă, gravitația dispare prin sugestiile imponderabile ale materiei. Ele nu sunt imitative, ci mai degrabă meditativ-transfigurate, organice, prin mişcările evolutive ale volumelor. Dialogul cu materia oferă spectacolul unor creaţii ce pleacă de la geometrii pline şi ajunge la dantelării diafane, având forță interioară. Aparținând exclusiv artei vizualului, lucrările pe care le concep își au obârșia în aceste aspecte culturale. infinite trimiteri la conexiuni și povești între forme.

Revelaţia înseamnă în acelaşi timp clarviziune, salvare şi transcendere, toate acestea raportate la modul de a fi puse în semn, nu privite în context teozofic ori metaforic. Ceea ce contează este capacitatea imaginii de a fi purtătoare a unui mesaj verbal.
Consider că omul este măsura tuturor lucrurilor, motiv pentru care mi-a “înzestrat” personajele cu stări,sentimente, atitudini. Geometric, antropomorfic, uneori chiar anamorfic, operează deopotrivă cu idei, relaţii vizuale şi diferenţe de potenţial. Plinul şi golul înseamnă variaţie energetică. Aşadar, joc, nu joacă!

FIELD - Lucian Cioată
For too long, the watercolor technique has been dedicated to exploiting transparencies and putting evanescences on the page. Delicacy first in relation to vigor. I propose a new type of approach, in which watercolor acquires scope and drama. He claims a format, but also a different attack of the support. The color drips onto it, creating splashes of color, reminiscent of Italian macchiaiuoli. Itten's coloristic system is recognized, but at the same time undermined, by placing the colors in a relationship of conflict, and not in one of simple harmony. The goal is a dramatic confrontation between the colored surfaces. The texture is enhanced by the integration of colloids in the pictorial substance, achieving dynamic ratios between transparency and density. The hazard of the flow of the pictorial substance is an essential component of the pictorial approach. The variable inclination of the support makes the flow of the pictorial matter oppose gravity, not proposing gliding, but the displacement that gives birth to wonder.
VIBRATIONS - Maria Cioată
Volumetric forms transcend the horizon of expectation, in relation to the material. Plastic solutions are suggested either by the physico-chemical properties of matter, or by those with so-called aesthetic value, such as texture, structure, consistency, all emphasized by a spatial drawing. Light has a defining role, being "invited" to integrate into the composition. The space is expanded, through a fabric of lights and shadows that suggest that, beyond what is shown to us, there is also an unseen world. Forms gain weight or, on the contrary, gravity disappears through the weightless suggestions of matter. They are not imitative, but rather meditatively transfigured, organic, through the evolutionary movements of the volumes. The dialogue with matter offers the spectacle of some creations that start from full geometries and reach diaphanous laces, having inner strength. Belonging exclusively to visual art, the works I design have their origins in these cultural aspects. infinite references to connections and stories between forms.

Revelation means at the same time clairvoyance, salvation and transcendence, all these related to the way of being put in a sign, not viewed in a theosophical or metaphorical context. What matters is the ability of the image to carry a verbal message.
I believe that man is the measure of all things, which is why he "endowed" my characters with moods, feelings, attitudes. Geometric, anthropomorphic, sometimes even anamorphic, it operates equally with ideas, visual relations and potential differences. Fullness and emptiness mean energy variation.
The exhibition is part of the BRAŞOV 2023 INTERNATIONAL VISUAL ART BIENNAL - OXIMORON project, the 3rd edition, a project of the Artessentia Cultural Association, financed by the Brașov County Council and co-financed by the Brașov Municipality.
